If you haven't heard about GPS or Global Positioning Systems, where have you been? Information about them has been in the news a lot lately and how to purchase everything from GPS Navigation systems in automobiles to palm-sized GPS systems. GPS Automobile Recovery anti theft systems have multi-functional uses, but their biggest use is to locate and find a vehicle if it is ever stolen.

GPS Systems What are they?

A Global Position System, hereinafter referred to as GPS, is a compact system that can be fitted onto our automobile or boat or any mobile transporter or even your person. It then allows whatever it is attached to, to be monitored from a third location, because of satellite technology. The satellite technology is a constellation of 24 satellites that can send information to a GPS receiver, so that the position of the compact unit (and whatever it is attached to) can be relayed in three areas; altitude and latitude and longitude.

The GPS system originally was used as a military device by the U.S. Department of Defense, between 1974 and 1977, to track missiles and bombs that were delivered by our armed services forces. It wasn't until President Clinton was in office that use of the GPS was opened to civilians. Additional bandwidth and advances in technologies caused a surge in GPS applications and marketing.

Millennium Plus GPS Vehicle Tracking is a mobile tracking device, stealthily secured inside a vehicle, that enables you to monitor and control many vehicle features. Employing a constellation of satellites, and patented microburst technology - you interface with your vehicle anytime via the Internet, or access reporting and alert functions by email, cell phone, or pager!

Millennium Plus uses an incredibly new technology, which includes GPS satellites and GSM cell technology. You have hands-on communication with the vehicle through use of the transceiver. There is a two-way flow of information and communication.

*Millennium Plus, via the internet using any standard browser, allows you to send out a signal. Using the cell phone tower nearest your current location, the signal is picked up.

*Microburst engineering uses cellular networks to transmit data and information. The system is able to hook up to unused channels or frequencies on the back side of standard cell lines.

* The GPS satellites then locate and communicate with the Millennium Plus transceiver on board your vehicle, which exchanges information on location and speed, as well as executing any commands you've sent.

* Cell tower engineering is again used to transmit the location back to your location.

What would prompt a person to buy a Millennium Plus GPS vehicle monitoring system? There are many reasons. The possible applications could be so spread out in a Millennium Plus system that they would be helpful at work, at home or for leisure purposes.

Business uses for real time GPS vehicle tracking anti theft system...those who have concern for the safety and public welfare of others, vehicles and whatever they carry

With 1.2 million vehicles stolen at a cost of about 8.2 billion, vehicle theft has become the country’s number one property crime as listed by the most recent FBI Uniform Crime Reports (ca 2001). Worse than this, you will only have a 62% in 2001, chance of getting your automobile back. This rate has dropped from an 84% change of getting it back in 1990. With police failure at regaining your assets, how will a person get their car back?

For the second year in a row, the conjoined municipalities of Phoenix/Mesa, AZ have the highest rate of stolen vehicles in the country. Amongst other crime deterrent measures, the City of Phoenix Police Department suggests, "...installing a tracking device in your vehicle to help recover it if it is stolen**".

Insurance Discounts

Millennium Plus is an Anti-theft device, even though it's uses are very broad. An extra incentive to own a GPS is that most insurance companies, by law, will offer discounts to owners of GPS tracking systems. It is called an anti-theft discount. Contact your insurance agent to discuss anti-theft discounts.
