How To Pick a TV Wall Mount

You've purchased a new LCD television that you want to mount on the wall. But how can you know what is the best mount for your purposes? The following article has some things to pay attention to when you are in the market for an LCD TV wall bracket.

Before, each television and mount manufacturer had their own set up, so it was much harder to figure out which mount matched your TV. In contrast, currently, each of the manufacturers have decided on a basic setup and this permits the purchase of universal TV wall mounts. This not only saves time and money, but the holes that are pre drilled at the back of the television make installing them a lot less involved than it once was.

Once you get an everyday universal TV mount kit, you'll find brackets that go on the back of the TV and a plate that goes on the wall. The TV wall brackets are developed specifically to fit the holes that have been pre drilled into the back of the TV display.

Even though it's a universal kit in its hardware, there are mount options out there that you're going to want to think about before buying one. To illustrate, if you are in the market for a very clean look, try the standard, basic TV wall mount. This should keep the TV display within one inch of the wall. You should keep in mind that, with this style, the TV can't be tilted in any way so you have to be mindful about where it is mounted, considering where you want the main viewing area to be.

If you are thinking that you'll want to change the angle of the television, then you'll need to look into a tilt mount. The style is close to the other model, but the TV is affixed a little further from the wall. This extra space makes it so the TV display can be adjusted and tilted. The tilt's degree is going to vary, depending on the model and make of the wall mount.

If you opt for the tilt design you should examine how the wall mount moves. A few mounts can move with just your hand because it moves on a ratchet system. there are other models that need a special device to move the TV display's angle. If you think you're going to be changing the position of the TV display now and again, it's probably worth the added expense to get the ratchet system for convenience and easiness of the movement.

If you'd rather be able to move to different places in the room and not sit on the same spot on the sofa each time you watch TV, you may decide on a wall mount that allows the TV to be pulled away from the wall and adjusted and tilted for almost unlimited positions. These are referred to as articulating wall mounts.

So, if you're shopping for mounts for your TV, be certain that you look at all of the areas that the TV will be watched so you can purchase the one that is going to work very best for you.
